Baisampayan is a final year master degree student at Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bomaby. He holds B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NERIST, Arunachal Pradesh and has a work experience of 3.5 years.

He is currently working on his master degree project on developing a modular and ergonomic handle for Laparoscopic instruments in collaboration with Dr. Bhansali of Nanavati Hospital, and guided by Prof. V. P. Bapat, Prof. G.G. Ray and Prof. B. Ravi.

Modular and ergonomic Laparoscopic instrument handle is an answer to surgeons' need for making the instruments less stressful while providing more maneuverability and control. It is expected to be more universal in nature and suitable for fitting a variety of surgical instruments used in laparoscopy.
Development team includes Baisampayan Saha, IDC, IIT Bombay, guided by expert surgeons and faculty.
